5 Tips To Make Your New Year’s Resolutions A Success

As another year comes to a close, you may be thinking about some New Year’s Resolutions. Perhaps you already have your next year’s goals posted on your bathroom mirror! I think it’s good to set goals so that you are constantly trying to move forward and be a better version of yourself. Every year “losing weight” or “being healthier” is in the top 3 of the most popular New Year’s Resolutions. But health shouldn’t be the only goals we set out to achieve. I believe it’s important to also have goals for relationships, family, spiritual growth, financial, etc.

It doesn’t matter if those goals are New Year’s Resolutions or just goals you have set for yourself at some point during the year. The important thing is to just set some goals. I’m sure you have heard the statistics that say only 9% of people achieve their New Year’s Resolutions. And that nearly 80% of New Year’s Resolutions are failed before mid February!

So here are 5 tips to help you be successful with your goals:

1. Write them down and post them somewhere that you will see regularly.

2. Set realistic goals (challenging but realistic). Baby steps then progress to larger steps.

3. Make them measurable (replace: “I’m going to exercise more ” with: “I’m going to exercise 5 times a week”).

4. Tell them to someone (accountability partner).

5. If you mess up, learn from the mistake and keep moving forward. Don’t just quit! Keep going!

We wish you much success in the new year and we are here cheering you on every step of the way!
